New Adventures

Yes, it’s been a long time between drinks. Yes, this is not a Thursday.

Mostly it’s been working to pay the bills, rather than writing (and publishing). Yes, publishing. In case I haven’t mentioned it before, I’m also a publisher. I own Trenwick House Publishing – https://trenwickhouse.com.au/.

It started in December of 2006 as a place to list books that I had written and therefore published. Some might say it’s a round about way of self-publishing, and I guess it is. As I may have said in previous posts, (and if not, here now), I have always believed in the strength of a name. having a book published through a publishing house, for me at least, adds confidence and strength.

I’m not saying that self-publishing directly is not strong, it’s a personal belief.

An amount of accountability and credulity is added when a book is published through a publishing house.

Now for the New Adventures.

Recently I made the decision to close a small section of the business to concentrate on other areas. As it currently states on the website, as of December 31, 2023, LaBouche Books will close.

This will make way for energies to be re-directed to a new project – Birrumbulla Tales – https://trenwickhouse.com.au/birrumbulla-tales/.

This is written by adgray and is an epistolary novel. A physical (yes, physical printing) mailout will be sent out to each subscriber each month, for 12 months. It will contain letters and extra items that make up the tale. For Birrumbulla Tales, the first adventure is – The Tack Room Adventure.

To quote; “Nearing midnight of the first day of 1981. Exhausted from a week of shearing scruffy bush wethers, the last thing Angus Keogh wanted to do was drive into town to collect some hopeless city chick off the bus. No time to change, let alone shower, she’d just have to put up with the stench of him. Tired from travelling since lunch time, Susan Armstrong was in no mood for the unpredictable temperature, nor for the grumpy yobbo sent to fetch her. It was annoying enough to be suddenly farmed out to help strangers, the six-hour train and bus trip did her recovering state no favours. That’d be the last time she’d party before travelling halfway across the state! And, bloody hell, she forgot her diary! Where will this journey end … and who with?”

This is the first of ten. Initial planning has them coming out every 6 months – if the author can keep up.

Tack Room Adventure is actually seventh in the series, and most likely the largest. Be prepared for a ride across the decades as they will not be coming out in order at all.
