New Times

Even though I haven’t posted since the eve of NaNoWriMo[1], I have been busy. I successfully completed NaNo last year and now have the completed manuscripts for two novels. How can I have written two novels in November? Well, the words I wrote in both were new to each manuscript. I had started one of them during October and completed that one towards the end of November, once I had completed the manuscript that followed. In total, I wrote just over 78200 words for November, with the target being 50000. They have been sitting to one side since that day and I need to get them complied and printed out so they can be edited.

I’m on the hunt for an editor I can work with as I have a total of nine books belonging to that series alone. I kind of want to write all nine manuscripts first, but I should also get these first five or six done in case I need to go back and make changes to the earlier ones to bring them in line with the latter ones. However, they will probably wait until after I get back from my overseas trip in March/April 2020.

I’m heading away for a holiday to Vancouver then Washington, DC. First visit to Vancouver but it will be exciting. I will be seeing the sights, but I will also be researching for the third book in my Jake North series. No, book two hasn’t been released yet, but I hope to get that done by the end of the year. It needs a beta read to see how it’s flowing. Editing is as much as I can do for now.

One of the other reasons for being away for so long is that my day job has been busy leading up to Christmas. I also purchased a new PC and have been migrating slowly to that. I now need to go back to my Mac and restart it so I can access certain files that I can’t read on the PC. A bit of a drag as I really don’t want to buy another monitor just for that and I need to consider if I really want to have two monitors on my desktop. Once I spend the money, I should be okay. Now is the time for me to do as I will be off work for about two weeks at the beginning of February following a minor surgery. I can’t do much, so I will be at home doing as little as possible. If I get the extra monitor, then I will be able to convert several files and I will be a happy writer again.

That’s about it for now.

I hope to chat with you again soon.

Happy New Writing Year to all.
